Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has sacked the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, following a minor reshuffle of the State Executive Council.
The decision was announced in a statement issued in the early hours of Monday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, the governor approved changes in the composition of his cabinet, leading to Galadima’s removal with immediate effect.
“His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved a minor change in the composition of his cabinet,” the statement read.
“In that regard, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, has been relieved of his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.”
Gidado said the action was part of the administration’s routine review of its cabinet aimed at injecting fresh ideas, strengthening governance, and repositioning the executive arm for improved service delivery and effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
The governor, while appreciating Galadima for his service to the state, wished him success in his future endeavours.
He also reassured residents of Bauchi State of his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, security and good governance.
The statement added that a replacement for the removed commissioner would be announced in due course.
