Residents of Akure and its environs have been advised not to panic over the movement of a large number of soldiers on Friday as the Nigerian Army will conduct a routine military route march across parts of the Ondo State capital.
The advisory was issued on Thursday by the Headquarters, 32 Artillery Brigade, through its Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Captain IP Omale.
According to the Army, the exercise will commence from the Owena Cantonment and proceed along Ondo Road through Akure town before returning to the cantonment.
The military explained that the route march is part of its routine training activities and will involve a significant deployment of troops.
It appealed to members of the public to remain calm throughout the exercise and continue with their lawful activities, assuring residents that the movement of soldiers should not be mistaken for any security threat.
The Army also urged motorists and other road users to cooperate with personnel participating in the exercise where necessary to ensure a smooth and hitch-free operation.
