Tinubu gets fresh backing as Ondo youths roll out 2027 campaign platform

A coalition of young residents in Ondo State has launched a new platform to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid.

The group is operating under the name Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT).

The Director General of the group, Thalis Olonite Apalowo, told journalists on Monday that Ondo youths were ready to deliver overwhelming backing for the president.

He said Tinubu had “set Nigeria on the path to greatness” through bold reforms.

“In less than two years, young Nigerians have witnessed significant steps taken to end petroleum subsidies and stabilise the foreign exchange system. Access to higher education has been made easier through the student loan initiative. Today, more young people—especially in Ondo State—are establishing small and medium enterprises, which remain the backbone of every thriving economy. The achievements are numerous,” Apalowo said.

He added that the best way to appreciate these efforts was to return the president to office in 2027.

“We will deploy our collective strength, mobilisation capacity, grassroots networks, organisational structure, communication channels, and every available resources to guarantee his reelection,” he affirmed.

The group is backed by the Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who they credited for championing youth empowerment across the state. Apalowo described him as a strong pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“When the Honourable Minister assumed office, he moved quickly into action. Over 200,000 passport backlogs were cleared. The introduction of e-gates eased airport traffic and reduced human contact—an important step in curbing corruption. A new Data Control Centre and several innovative reforms across agencies under the Ministry have also been delivered,” he noted.

OYAT said it would hold policy dialogues, town hall meetings, and community-focused projects across Ondo communities to mobilise thousands of young voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
