The National Youth Service Corps has issued fresh directives for prospective corps members ahead of the forthcoming orientation exercise, warning them against travelling at night and outlining conditions for registration at orientation camps nationwide.
In a notice released on Monday through its official X handle, the scheme urged prospective corps members to put their safety first by avoiding night journeys to their designated orientation camps.
The NYSC also cautioned that candidates whose graduation dates on their call up letters do not match those on their statements of results would not be allowed to register at the camps.
According to the scheme, affected prospective corps members are expected to resolve such discrepancies with their respective Student Affairs Officers before reporting for the orientation programme.
The agency further advised all candidates to complete the necessary documentation before arriving at camp, stressing that the registration form must be printed, signed and submitted during the registration process.
In addition, the NYSC explained the procedure for correcting dates of birth, directing applicants seeking amendments to obtain a 19 or 20 digit WAEC Verification PIN before initiating the process through their NYSC dashboard.
It stated that applicants are required to access the “Correction of Date of Birth” section, input their WAEC Verification PIN, select the appropriate examination type and year, enter their examination number, verify the information and submit the request.
The scheme urged prospective corps members to comply with all the guidelines to ensure a hitch free registration process and avoid delays or disqualification at the orientation camps.
