More than 100 suspected “imported” voters have reportedly been arrested in Osun State amid allegations of attempts to manipulate Saturday’s governorship election.
The individuals, who were said to be in possession of newly issued Permanent Voter Cards, were reportedly found staying at the residence of one Abiola Ibrahim ahead of the election.
The arrests followed allegations that the voters had been brought into the state by a member of the Accord Party to participate in the governorship poll.
The development occurred as voters across the state turned out to elect the next governor, with heightened security measures deployed to forestall electoral malpractice and violence.
