The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has met with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as the ruling party intensifies efforts to secure support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Basiru disclosed this after his meeting with the governor in Osun State on Sunday, saying discussions focused largely on strategies to deliver the state to Tinubu at the next presidential poll.
The APC national secretary also said the visit was partly to congratulate Adeleke on his electoral victory and express appreciation for the governor’s presence at the burial of his late mother.
According to Basiru, Adeleke had given his word to support efforts aimed at securing victory for President Tinubu in Osun during the 2027 election.
He said, “I paid a congratulatory visit to His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, following his victory at the polls and also to sincerely appreciate him for honouring my family during the burial of my late mother.
“We also discussed how to deliver Osun for Mr President in the 2027 presidential election, as promised by Governor Ademola Adeleke.”
The meeting comes amid increasing political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political parties and key stakeholders already working to strengthen their support bases across the country.
