MercySpeaks Initiatives has held a successful meeting with the Consumer Protection Agency on Monday, 2nd November 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting consumer awareness, safety and advocacy, particularly among children, teenagers and families.
The meeting focused on exploring areas of collaboration that will strengthen consumer education and ensure that children, parents and families are better informed about their rights and the safety standards to consider before purchasing or consuming products.
A major focus of the engagement was the need to take consumer protection awareness into schools, creating opportunities for children and teenagers to understand what to look out for in the products they buy and consume, how to identify potentially unsafe products, and where to seek help when their consumer rights are violated.
MercySpeaks Initiatives believes that consumer education should begin early. Children are consumers too, and they deserve the knowledge and confidence to make safe and informed choices. Parents and families also need the right information to protect their households from unsafe products and harmful consumption practices.
The proposed collaboration will explore school-based awareness programmes, consumer education, sensitisation campaigns and other initiatives that will promote safer communities and responsible consumption across Ondo State.
MercySpeaks Initiatives looks forward to a productive partnership with the Consumer Protection Agency in advancing consumer safety, education and advocacy.
At MercySpeaks, every child matters, every family deserves protection, and every consumer deserves to be informed.
