Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has thrown his weight behind the City Boy Movement in its grassroots mobilisation efforts for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Aiyedatiwa made his position known when the leadership of the Ondo State chapter of the City Boy Movement visited him at the Governor’s Office in Akure on Friday.
The visit was aimed at briefing the governor on the structure, activities and mobilisation strategies of the group ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Director of Media and Communications of the movement, Oluyemi Fasipe, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa commended the group for its commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and assured the movement of the state’s support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The Governor reaffirmed Ondo State’s full support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” the statement said.
Fasipe added that the governor also assured the City Boy Movement and other genuine pro-Tinubu support groups of the necessary backing to advance their mobilisation efforts across the state.
The movement, he said, remained committed to grassroots mobilisation and would work towards securing massive support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State in the 2027 election.
The development effectively places the state government behind the pro-Tinubu mobilisation drive, with the movement adopting the slogan, “Ondo for Tinubu 2027.”
