The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Success Olafemi, after she was allegedly caught attempting to lure a seven-year-old girl in the Ewu-Lisa area of the state.

The suspect was also reportedly found in possession of 88 Automated Teller Machine cards belonging to various banks and financial institutions.

Olafemi, said to be a resident of Kara Makasia, near the Redeemed Christian Church of God Camp, was arrested on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following information received by the police.

According to reports, the information was provided by a woman identified as Tope Makinde of Iwe-Lepe village along the Sagamu Road.

Makinde reportedly alerted the police around 10am after Olafemi allegedly travelled to Ewu-Lisa through Simawa earlier that morning, where she was said to have approached a seven-year-old girl identified as Jumat.

The suspect allegedly attempted to entice the child with N200 notes and sachets of Milo before she was apprehended.

Following her arrest, the police reportedly searched Olafemi and discovered a large collection of ATM cards in her possession.

The recovered cards were said to include 25 OPay cards, 13 UBA cards, two Skye Bank cards, seven Keystone Bank cards, nine GTBank cards, 10 Zenith Bank cards, two PalmPay cards, four Ecobank cards and 11 First Bank cards.

Police also reportedly recovered N7,000 in cash, mostly in N200 denominations, as well as sachets of Milo and Nescafé from the suspect’s handbag.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the incident, said the suspect allegedly failed to give a satisfactory explanation during questioning regarding how she obtained the large number of ATM cards.

The police have reportedly commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the recovered bank cards and the allegation involving the child.

Olafemi remains in police custody as detectives work to establish whether there is any connection between the suspect, the ATM cards and the alleged attempt to lure the seven-year-old.
