Another fire outbreak has occurred at the popular Sabo Market in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The latest incident, which happened on Sunday evening, reportedly affected a drinks store in the market despite rainfall in the area.
The development has renewed concerns among traders and residents, coming only weeks after a major fire destroyed several shops and goods estimated to be worth millions of naira at the same market.
The cause of Sunday’s fire was yet to be established as of the time of filing this report.
The incident reportedly drew traders, residents and other members of the community to the scene, with many expressing concern over the repeated occurrence of fire outbreaks in the market.
However, the prompt arrival and intervention of firefighters reportedly prevented the flames from spreading to adjoining shops and other properties.
Some traders and residents who spoke on the incident called for stronger fire prevention measures and improved safety arrangements within the market to avert another major disaster.
They urged relevant authorities and market leaders to investigate the recurring incidents and take proactive steps to protect traders and their goods from further losses.
