The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, following an investigation into an alleged child pornography case in Onitsha.

The arrest came after a disturbing video reportedly surfaced online, allegedly showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, saying the suspect was apprehended on September 10, 2026, following information obtained through open-source intelligence.

Ikenga said police operatives also rescued four children during the operation.

According to the police, the children, aged two, three, six and nine, were taken into protective care, while sex toys and other materials believed to be relevant to the investigation were recovered.

The police spokesperson said Onyeanusia remained in custody as detectives continued efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine whether other individuals were involved.

He added that the suspect’s husband was also being questioned by investigators to ascertain whether he had any connection with the alleged incident.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji, expressed concern over the allegation, stressing that the exploitation or abuse of children could not be tolerated.

Ikenga said Oji had ordered a comprehensive investigation while directing that the rescued children be provided with appropriate protection and care.

He said the command would collaborate with relevant child protection and support organisations to ensure that the children received counselling and other assistance needed during their recovery.

The police further assured that the identities and privacy of the children would be protected throughout the investigation, adding that officers would handle the matter with sensitivity.

The command also acknowledged the role played by local vigilantes, bloggers and residents whose information, according to the police, contributed to the investigation and eventual arrest of the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the suspect have not yet been established in court.
