Suspected bandits have killed a community security commander, identified as Agbeniga Taye, during an attack on Idofin-Ayekale in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attackers also reportedly abducted two residents during the incident, which occurred on Thursday evening, heightening concerns over the security situation in the area.
Sources said Taye, a local security operative, was killed while attempting to defend residents against the armed attackers who invaded the community.
The identities of the two abducted residents were not immediately known as of Friday.
The latest attack has reportedly unsettled residents, with concerns growing over the safety of communities in Kwara South Senatorial District.
Residents expressed fears that the recurring attacks and kidnapping incidents could further threaten lives and property in the area.
