The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three men, including a 20-year-old man accused of conspiring with two others to rob his mother and siblings during a midnight attack in Yola.
The suspects allegedly invaded the family residence at Wuro Kuturu, in the Jimeta area of Yola, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and carted away N200,000, two mobile phones and a power bank.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, identifying the suspects as Aminu Adamu, 20; Adamu Mamman, 22; and Nuhu Umar, 22, all residents of Wuro Kuturu.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly armed themselves with dangerous weapons before gaining access to the residence and attacking the occupants.
The command said the suspects were arrested on Thursday, September 17, by operatives attached to the Karewa Area Command following a complaint lodged by the victim.
Items recovered from the suspects included a knife, pliers, scissors, suspected hard drugs and quantities of Indian hemp.
Nguroje said the suspects allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.
He said the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, had directed that the case be thoroughly investigated and that the suspects be diligently prosecuted.
The police said the investigation would determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged involvement of the victim’s son and the other suspects in the robbery.
The Command assured residents that efforts were ongoing to strengthen security and ensure that those found culpable of criminal activities were brought to justice.
