2027: Small Alhaji quits APC, may join new party

A former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as “Small Alhaji,” has resigned from the All Progressives Congress, citing the party’s inability to effectively address internal grievances.

Adefisoye announced his resignation in a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, saying the decision followed what he described as prolonged frustration with the party’s internal processes.

The former lawmaker said the decision was based on his personal conviction and that of his supporters, particularly over the lack of effective mechanisms within the APC for resolving disputes and addressing members’ concerns.

He, however, stressed that his departure from the ruling party should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of his support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Adefisoye said he remained committed to the success of the President and would continue to support initiatives aimed at advancing his administration.

He also directed the APC to remove his name and all records associated with his membership from the party’s register.

The former lawmaker clarified that his resignation was not recent, explaining that he had only decided to make it public for the record.

Adefisoye previously represented the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives. He was also a prominent APC member in Idanre Local Government Area.

His exit comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, amid reports that he was disqualified from participating in the APC primaries.

With his resignation, political observers are watching closely to see his next move, as sources indicate that the former lawmaker may adopt another political platform to pursue his political ambitions ahead of 2027.
